1. Captain Magan; 2.George Brabazon by Turlough Carolan (1670-1738); Arranged for guitar by John Feeley. Notation + Tab; with fingering.

Both tunes in this set were composed by Turlough O'Carolan in 6/8 time.  The title of the first jig most likely refers to Morgan Magan of Togherstown, Co Westmeath who died in the late 1730's.  He was a son of Morgan magan of Cloney also in Co Westmeath.  This tune was published in a number of sources including John Mulholland's "Collection of Old-Established Irish Slow and Quick Tunes", Books 1 and 2, published by S. Holden in Dublin between 1806 and 1807.  The second tune in the set is a drinking song and the first of two pieces composed by Carolan for George Brabazon  of New Park, Co Mayo.  It is published in Donal O'Sullivan's book "Carolan: The Life, Times and Music of an Irish Harper" No 6.
